About ventodyne
ventodyne is a TU Munich spin-off founded in 2022 by Dr.-Ing. Johannes Schreiber and Prof. Dr. Carlo L. Bottasso. We help wind farm owners and operators improve wind farm revenue through technically rigorous analytics, operational diagnostics, and advanced control solutions grounded in current wind energy research.
Independent by design
ventodyne is fully owned and financed by its founders and is not backed by investors or part of a larger corporate group. This independence allows us to make decisions based on technical rigor, scientific integrity, and long-term customer value rather than external growth targets or short-term financial pressures. Our responsibility is to our clients and to delivering technically sound, measurable results.
Leadership
Johannes Schreiber leads ventodyne as CEO and brings deep expertise in wind farm analysis and control. His doctoral work and research at TU Munich focused on wind sensing for wind farm control, and he has also worked with multiple clients as an independent wind energy consultant.
Carlo L. Bottasso is co-founder of ventodyne and supports the company with more than 30 years of research and development experience and also serves as Chair of Wind Energy at TU Munich, Editor-in-Chief of Wind Energy Science, and former president and vice-president of the European Academy of Wind Energy.

Johannes Schreiber
From research to real wind farms
We believe there is enormous hidden potential in the data produced every day by operating wind turbines. Our work builds on years of research, participation in national and international projects, and publications in high-impact scientific journals. We have also participated in field demonstrations of wake steering at different sites and with different wind turbines, and we run a commercial wake-steering wind farm controller that increases the energy yield of a client wind farm.
How we work
We focus on methods that hold up in real operating conditions, including the messy confounders and validation steps that simpler analyses often ignore. That means prioritizing repeatability, transparency, and practical relevance so wind farm teams can act with confidence.
Why ventodyne
ventodyne emphasizes technical rigor, scientific integrity, repeatability, and transparency rather than shortcuts or inflated claims. The practical aim is to give operators an independent second view on their SCADA data and wind farm behavior that holds up under real operating conditions.
